“Lonsdale” is named after the fifth Earl of Lonsdale, Hugh Cecil Lowther, who organized the first boxing match with gloves in 1891. Bernard Hart asked a descendant of the Earl the permit to use their surname for a boxing clothing brand.
The company, which began by manufacturing boxing clothing and accessories, took up the manufacturing of sportswear.

The brand became famous thanks to athletes like Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis.

Today, Lonsdale London is an evergreen, captivating, casual, refined brand, embracing a very large population range (both male and female), fromkids to adults.
