After finishing his degree in Medicine, Dr. Scholl continued to pursue his study of the anatomy and physiology of feet and began to patent a number of products aimed at improving foot comfort – such as inserts to be placed inside shoes, anatomical footwear, sandals and compression hosiery to give relief to problems such as varicose veins and swollen ankles.

All of these inventions would go on to become genuine best-sellers for the company, which is still a leader in the foot care sector to this very day. Scholl’s mission, 100 years on from its foundation, remains unchanged: trying to improve people’s comfort, health and well-being, starting with their feet.

Even today, Scholl continues to offer foot care solutions with the same passion and following the same philosophy as its founder, William Mathias Scholl, to improve the comfort, health and well-being of men and women by caring for their feet.
